The Royal Mechs Fund

The whole idea behind the fund is to keep in touch with our college by giving something back. Our college is the place which binds us together and has given us so much of  naughty memories to look back to.Coming from the infrastructurally budding Mechanical Department, we have no dearth of the options on how to contribute !

The library that we had given to the department has really taken off with a large room being allocated for it in the new Mechanical block. The number of books have also increased with the contributions of the subsequent batches. Our teachers proved their regal attitude by merging the entire staff library with it. Our juniors  Suchith Varkey and Deepak ( of 2001 batch) , to name just two , were also instrumental in all the development.  Still the library has a long way to go in terms of getting new books and subscribing to the latest technical journals .That's where we come in.

We can donate a token amount every year specifically for buying books and journals. We can increase the amount every year with our (hopefully) bulging wallets. We can get somebody stationed in Trivandrum to co-ordinate with the department to deal with the logistics.

This is just a suggestion. All other ideas as to how to utilize the money are most welcome.

The US Software team consisting Anoop MD, Avanith , Binu, Kailas, Garbhu ,Paul Jose, Vipin KM, Mukund, Vidyanand, and the IBS team  of  Kiranlal, Harish,, Nishanth,Vineetha P and Silky from TataInfotech are the people who have contributed to get things going. Cheers to all of  you !

As a target for the current fiscal year a collection of Rs.50,000 seems quite feasible. We guys had our last B.Tech exam on  May 12th 2000, incidentally the day the library was inaugurated. We can have May 12 as the yearly date for the actual donation..

All this is going to work out and we are going to have a lot of fun all the way through it. All of us need to understand one thing-  we all  have something to look forward to when we go back to college, something we can always call our own . . .
