Calvin & Hobbes

Calvin and Hobbes is the best comic-strip ever to be created !!

It was 'born' on Nov. 18, 1985 in only about 35 newspapers and was not even run in Bill Watterson's hometown paper. By the end of its run on Dec. 31, 1995, it was being run in more than 2400 newspapers.

My personal experience with Calvin and Hobbes began very late, long after it stopped running in the newspapers. My room-mate had brought home one of the C&H comic books and I remember not feeling very amused when I read the first page... but a few pages more and before I knew it, I was hooked onto it !!!

I guess I can never really explain in words the fun I have when I read Calvin and Hobbes... but I hope all you guys out there who haven't read C&H take my word for it and get your hands on a book of calvin and hobbes and try it out yourself. If you are interested, I could add you to my mailing list and you'd find a strip or two in your inbox daily...ok, almost daily... cos this is not an automatic mailing list and I have to actually hit the send button from my computer in order for you to get the strips. and so, I usually cannot send them when I am away on trips..... or when i'm just downright lazy !!!

While searching the net for C&H, I came across this nice site -'the calvin and hobbes resource center'. The author no longer supports the site but its still there and the write-up at the bottom of the page gives a good description of the strip.

Before leaving, lemme suggest another comic strip - Ph.D but I guess you have to be a grad student to really relate to it ;-)
